Save Northfields library

Save Northfields Library
Ealing Council is proposing to close Northfields Library.
As your local Residents Association we strongly oppose the Council’s proposal to close this much-used, valuable and appreciated community facility.
Northfields Library is very well used by a wide range of local people.
The library is an integral part of the £2 million project to create a Children’s Centre incorporating the Log Cabin for children with disabilities, local Scouts and a nursery.
As it was refurbished at a cost of £610,000 in 2007, the library's closure would mean the expenditure was wasted.
The library is part of the overall plan for the adjacent Bramley Road Open Space, which is about to undergo a £200,000 re-development.
We must all act to protect this vital community facility.

So what can you do?
Please complete the council’s online survey by 3 May
If you do not have access to the internet then printed copies of the consultation are available at Northfields library.
Completing the online survey is the most important action, as Ealing council will base their decisions on the results of the survey.
Please encourage under-19’s to complete the separate children’s survey.
Please email your opposition to:
Cllr Julian Bell, Council Leader – julian.bell@ealing.gov.uk
Cllr Kamaljit Dhindsa, Cabinet Member for Libraries – kamaljit.dhindsa@ealing.gov.uk
Attend the public meeting on Wednesday 13 April from 7.00pm – 8:30pm at the Northfields Community Centre, 71a Northcroft Road, W13 9SS.
Sign the petitions opposing closure.
The EFRA web site, www.efra.org.uk/library, will provide further information on Ealing council’s proposals, and links to other organisations and on-line petitions.
